Ys: Memories of Celceta - Side Quests

There are 38 quests in this game. You need to finish them all in a single playthrough to unlock quest-related trophies, and some are missable due to urgency (they have "Urgent" tag on the board). Make sure to finish them all as soon as they appear, at least those which are missable (I will note that bellow).

Almost all of the quests are marked on your map. Usually you need to check them on the board inside a town, and then you need to talk to the client for details. After that it's fairly easy to find them on the map and solve them.

Casnan City I - Unlocked after completing Casnia Mine

To Milk a Fabros [Urgent] - Talk to Innkeeper Mucho. You need to milk a Fabros. In the second area of Beast plains go north, turn west, west, and finally south. Check your map for the marker if you are strugling. You need to approach Fabros from the northwest and slowly walk towards him from behind, press the prompt button and milk him. Return to the client.

Honey Potions [Urgent] -  The client is inside soldier's cafeteria, which is down stairs and to the right of the government building. You will receive 120 brittle bones, which you then need to exchange for 12 sturdy bones. Selling those will grant you 25G per piece, which finally opens the posibility for you to buy 3 Honey Potions needed for the client. You can just skip everything and just give the potions to the clients right away if you have them.

Purchasing Iron Ore [Missable] - You will need 20 Iron Ore. It may seems a bit too much at this point, but as soon as you set your foot in the Best Plains, you can just harvest the mining points there, then visit Casnia Mine and do the same. Repeat until you gather 20 and visit the merchant in the shop (blacksmith shop, lower floor). You can haggle for the price here, so turn him down until he offers 6250G, then accept. This is the part 1 for the Touche, Salesman Trophy.

Bear on the Plains - Talk to Luluca next to the quest board, ask her about Langritz. Check your map and find this best in the Best Plains (in the second area head north until you can turn west, then go west, then all the way south until you go down a hill and where the small water area is. From here, continue southeast to find the beast). You can check the map for the exact location.

Mouse's Information - Part 1 [Urgent] [Missable] - During certain in-game periods, Mouse who is behind the bar in Casnan City will sell you some info. You need to purchase all info's for the trophy. You can follow my video, I will add it here and just mention other parts in scope of the quest down bellow.

0:01 - Return to him after clearing Casnia Mine
0:38 - Return to him after clearing the Ancient Burrow (after unlocking quests in Comodo Village)
0:51 - Return to him after clearing the Sacred Beasts' Lair. You will need to return to Casnan City, do so, and trigger this part before finishing the given quests (when Adol is alone)
1:24 - Soon after the previous part (when you finish the given story quests in Casnan), Karna rejoins the party. Go now and buy the new intel
1:49 - Return to him after the events at the Tower of Providence.
2:03 - Return to him after Frieda joins your party, after the events at Danan Village
2:17 - Return to him after the events at the Elduke, Roos' Nest area, but before you complete the Colonia Artifact Laboratory dungeon
2:30 - Return to him after completing the Colonia Artifact Laboratory dungeon to unlock the trophy

Charming the Animals - This one is more like a side-side-quest and doesn't count towards the all quests trophy. But it will unlock one different trophy. Basically you need to talk to the animals (24 in sum), give them at least the second tier of item they can digest and raise the affinity to 3 hearts (after which they give you an item). I will provide the full video here, basically you can talk to animals in the city as soon as you can freely move (usually after some events). As this is not missable, you can take your time.

Comodo Village I - Unlocked after clearing Ancient Burrow

Sword Training [Urgent] [Missable] - If you talk to the girl at the highest point in this settlement, you will soon initiate a battle with Duran. Losing means you will miss out on Duran monster entry, thus missing the Monster Meister trophy. SAVE before this quest, make sure you are at least up to level 15-16, buy the best equipment and defeat him. Doing so will grant you 2000G x2.

A Fresh Meal - Talk to Edea on the 4th level in the village and give her 10 Fresh Leaves. If you lack some, you can exchange the Rotten ones on the first floor with the Fleur. You can easily harvest those from the plant-type harvest points all across the game.

The Monkey King - Talk to Theresa in the Community Center for the info about Golwonga monster. Now leave Comodo village and head south through the Gidona Crater. Exit to the east when you can to reach the Forest of Dawn: East. Head east hugging the southern edges of the area to find Golwonga. He is a bit tough at this point, but you can start with full EXTRA gauge and unleash it on him, then try to avoid being hit and finish him off. You can always return later when you are stronger.

Selray Village I - Unlocked after clearing Sacred Beasts’ Lair

Shopkeeper for a Day [Urgent] [Missable] - Speak with Ray the Shopkeeper, which is just east to the town square. He will explaing to you about discounts and other stuff. Memorize which fruit/nut he mentiones that he has the most, that one will be needed for the last step of this quest. Doing everything right unlocks the part 2 for the Touche, Salesman Trophy. SAVE before this this one.

• Rilche (again): Buy a fruit for her (30G)
• Adol: Call out to try attracting more
• Cirrus: Sell him the Nut or Fruit that Ray had a high stock of (remember what he said during the explanation).
• Farna: Discount the Nut or Fruit that Ray had a high stock of (remember what he said during the explanation).

Seeking Moisturizer - In the southwester cornet of the town, just on the fense you can spot a frog and a girl. The girl needs 10 Clear Liquids (killing Gelogs out in the Algon River Basin gives you Filthy Liquids that you can exhange for the Clear Liquids if you're missing some).

A Swarm of Black - If you exit the village and go south and imidatelly east when you can, you will reach Forest of Dawn: West II. Progressing through the forest you can reach Jade Cave soon after the start. Inside you need to kill a swarm of Vesbiwars. You can wait for Karna to re-join if you have issues at this point.

Zara's Tickling [Urgent] [Missable] - You can trigger the next part now.

Casnan City II - After you return there for story events (after Salray Village)

Mouse's Information [Urgent] [Missable] - Make sure to trigger this before doing the quests.

Challenge! - Story Related and cannot be missed.

Miners Wanted - Story Related and cannot be missed.

Comodo Village II - Unlocked after Karna rejoins the party after the events in Casnan City

Crafting Materials - Saisen needs 3 Indestructible Shells (he is on the 3rd floor in his craft shop). Indestructible Shells are rare drops from Gazapo (Forest of Dawn: Stream) and Hourun (Algon River Basin) enemies. You can equip Silver Axe accessory to boost drop rates. This will expand his crafting list, making some interesting accessories available.

The Runaway Chick - In the second level of Comodo Village inside the white hut you can find Shaman Pippi. Sasami is gone and you need to bring the chick back! Exit the hut and go left, spook the chicked. You will need to find the chick again and approach it from behind. Explore the town, you will find her somewhere (random location) and do so.

Selray Village II - Unlocked after Karna rejoins the party after the events in Casnan City

Zara's Tickling [Urgent] [Missable] - You can trigger the next part now.

Super Weapon Test [Missable] - If you check the board, you will learn that apprentice blacksmith in the village wants to test a weapon. You have a choice between 2 of them; thus making this missable in a way. To get the other weapon entry you will need to choose different one then. Crimson Scale Charm and a Snake Amulet will protect you from the statuses these weapons have when you equip them, so make sure to have that.

You'll need to kill five Rangoa. Exit Selray Village, then exit to the south to reach the Algon River Basin. Now go east to reach the Forest of Dawn: West. Head east, north and east again. The exit to the east is your goal, and Rangoas are here. Equip the weapon from the quest giver, kill 5 of them and return to finish the quest. You will get another variation of that weapon.

Highland Town I - Unlocked after clearing the Tower of Providence

Mouse's Information [Urgent] [Missable] - You can trigger the next part now (in Casnan City).

Unleashing Artifacts - Visit Philemon's shop to learn about upgrading your artefacts. You will need Emeral and Topaz, which you can get by exchaning 3x Green Stones and 3x Yellow Stones. You can farm this in the Tower of Providence if you by any chance miss some. Upgrade your Dwarf Bracelet to Dwarf Bracelet+. This concludes the quest and you can now upgrade all artifacts you have in your possesion (upgraded versions are cool and needed for all items trophy).

Purchasing Silver [Missable] - Oona needs three Silver Ingots. You can easily get those by refining Silver Ore. Return to the weapon/armor shop when you have them, choose to sell and answer correctly on the next dialogue options:

Offer: 10,000G - "More!"
Offer: 10,000G + Honey Potion - "What else you got?"
Offer: 10,000G + Bitter Potion - "You can do better than that."
Offer: 10,000G + Soft Fur - "Try again."
Offer: 10,000G + Fierce Beast's Claw - "Keep 'em coming."
Offer: 10,000G + Hammer Beak - "Deal!"

Doing everything right unlocks the part 3 (final one) for the Touche, Salesman Trophy.

Wayward Guardians - Talk to Mariana in the chapel and she'll ask you to dispose of five Ruzaslapes. Teleport to the Sanctuary Approach: Mid and head north to the second area of the Sanctuary of Storms to find all five beasts.

Mishy's Hide and Seek - You can now start a series of Mishy's quest. This one also doesn't count towards the quests trophy, but it will unlock its separate trophy. I will note all the places and the video here, and try to note the other parts and when you can do them. Please refer to info here.

Comodo Village III - Unlocked after clearing the Tower of Providence

The Naughty Chick - At the second level of Comodo Village inside the white hut you can find Shaman Pippi. Teva is now gone and you need to bring the chick back! Exit Shaman Pippi's hut and search near some boxes to the left. When the chick runs away, you need to find it again (random places in the village), approach from behing and that is it.

Selray Village III - Unlocked after clearing the Tower of Providence

Hyper Weapon Test [Missable] - If you check the board, you will learn that apprentice blacksmith in the village wants to test a weapon. You have a choice between 2 of them; thus making this missable in a way. To get the other weapon entry you will need to choose different one then. Thunder Beast Charm and a Swallow Amulet will protect you from the statuses these weapons have when you equip them, so make sure to have that.

You will need to kill 5 Crocles using this weapon. Exit Selray Village, then exit to the south to reach the Algon River Basin. Now go east to reach the Forest of Dawn: West. Keep going south and east and you will reach an area where croc is. Keep exiting and entering and kill the Crocles. Hint: Tilt R3 down so the other characters don't kill the beast, as that will not count for the character holding the weapon from the quest.

Danan Village I - Unlocked after Frieda joins your party in Danan

Secret Synthesis - Talk to Yami (Synthesis building in Danan Village). He'll ask you to gather a bunch of materials. 

Yupel Flower - 5x Marl Flowers
Libra Flower - 2x Yupel Flowers (Madogra-Slef in Ashen Forest)
Raparo Fruit - 5x Chito Nuts  (Harvest Point in Sanctuary Approach, Harvest Point in Table Mountain, Madogra-Slef in Ashen Forest)
Arieda Fruit - 2x Raparo Fruits (Madogra-Slef in Ashen Forest)

Poisonous Organ - 3x Sturdy Hide (Asarkos in Forest of Dawn, Barazowalla in Forest of Dawn, Bozowalla in Gidona Crater I, Blaybye in Gidona Crater II, Zakaruko in Forest of Spores)
Frog Extract - 3x Clear Liquid (Ribbit in Ashen Forest, The Frogs' Inn, Zogrom in Sacred Beasts' Lair)
Acidic Liquid - 6x Clear Liquid (Bulb in Underground Ruins, Guspoun in Underground Ruins, Hal-Bulb in Underground Ruins)
Slime Mold - 6x Clear Liquids (Dizwalla in Ashen Forest)

Good Luck Charm - Talk to Mikuri north of the village entrance. You need to give him 1 accessory from the list; My advice is the Silver Axe which you can craft in Selray Village. You need Silver Ingot (which you can easily get through Refining in Casnan) and an Axe Tail (dropped by Labadi enemies in the Jade Cave).

Twilight Flowers - Talk to Librarian Greta in the library of Danan City (the northern-most building) and ask her about the "Anderaulas". Head south and east through the Subterranean Forest until you find them.

Highland Town II - Unlocked after Frieda joins your party in Danan

Signature Collector - Talk to a boy Ethan in a house southwest of the Mayor's mansion. You need to find 3 people for his book of signatures.

• Q: (Quincy) - In the item shop in Casnan City
• U: (Ursula) - Outside the elder's house in Danan Village, by the animals.
• Z: (Zara) - Zara the tickle master! You'll find her in the Community Center in Selray Village.

Casnan City III - Unlocked after Frieda joins your party in Danan

Hungover Pikkard - Find a girl named Lucir in the southwestern section of town - just outside of Goldsmith's Shop. Talk to her and give her a Catholicon to sober up the pikkard.

Comodo Village IV - Unlocked after Frieda joins your party in Danan

Crafting Materials 2 - Saisen needs 1 Bizarre Hide (he is on the 3rd floor in his craft shop). Bizarre Hides are rare drops from Demileel in Forest of Spores, Grahm in Ashen Forest, Guspoun in Underground Ruins, Ravaeel in Forest of Spores, Supofanga in Forest of Spores. You can equip Silver Axe accessory to boost drop rates. This will expand his crafting list, making some interesting accessories available.

Selray Village IV - Unlocked after Frieda joins your party in Danan

Mega Weapon Test [Missable] - If you check the board, you will learn that apprentice blacksmith in the village wants to test a weapon. You have a choice between 2 of them; thus making this missable in a way. To get the other weapon entry you will need to choose different one then. Azure Scale Charm will protect you from the statuses for the halberd weapon.

You will need to kill 5 Madogra-Slef using this weapon. It's the big plant type of enemies in Ashen Forest. Find them and kill them. Hint: Tilt R3 down so the other characters don't kill the beast, as that will not count for the character holding the weapon from the quest.

Comodo Village V - Unlocked after events at Roos' Nest

Crafting Materials 3 - Saisen needs 1 Titanic Bone (he is on the 3rd floor in his craft shop). Titanic Bones are rare drops from Crocle in Forest of Dawn: West II, Grunpe in Mt. Vesuvio, Merahva in Lake Tolmes Ruins, Pogarov in Colonia Battlefield, Tolmeus in Lake Tolmes Ruins, Zorats in Underground Ruins. You can equip Silver Axe accessory to boost drop rates. This will expand his crafting list, making some interesting accessories available.

The Tyrannical Frogs - Talk to Theresa to learn about new foe. Go to Forest of Dawn: Wetlands monument, then go south to the area below. Now go northwest and east to the cave and head to the back. Ribbi-Magi is here.

Selray Village V - Unlocked after events at Roos' Nest

A Swarm of Scarlet - Similar like the first one you did. You will again need to reach Jade Cave and kill the monsters there.

Zara's Tickling [Urgent] [Missable]- You can trigger the next part now (in Selray Village).

Danan Village II - Unlocked after clearing the Colonia Artifact Laboratory dungeon

Rabbit Hunting - AHead to the item shop to find Explorer Pigeon. He will ask you to find his missing companion, Explorer Rabbit. Warp to the Ashen Forest: Outskirts Monument and make your way to Frog's Inn. Head inside and pick whatever option you prefer. Head back to Danan now and go see Pigeon in the item shop. Warp to the Forest of Spores Monument and head south to the camp. Rabbit is here, pick whatever option.

Resentful Spirit - Fast travel to the Ashen Forest Monument and head to the southwestern end of the Ashen Road: Miasmic Road area. Equip the Bloodstained Magatama. You will notice a small orb just above the southeastern chest from here, it will follow you. Keep defeating enemies and make your way towards northwest; at the end use Frieda's skill to cover the hole and continue west where the statue is. Defeat the beast.

Highland Town III - Unlocked after clearing the Colonia Artifact Laboratory dungeon

Cries from the Abyss - Find Cordelia on a wall northeast of the town's entrance. Travel to the Monument at the Underground Ruins: End and head north from there to where you fought Elvaron. Defeat Compragov and return back to Cordelia to finish the quest.

Casnan City IV - Unlocked after clearing the Colonia Artifact Laboratory dungeon

The Ultimate Purifier - Talk to Mucho next to the quest board. You need a Roda Leaf - exchange 30x Fresh Leaves (the merchant roo in the Roos' Nest). If you lack Fresh Leaves, just go farm Bozowalla and Barazowalla in the Forest of Dawn: East and Forest of Dawn: West.

Fruit Bat in the Dark - Talk to Luluca, she is to the right of the quest board. Make your way towards the end of the Casnan Mines and defeat the Olrabadi.

Comodo Village VI - Unlocked after clearing the Colonia Artifact Laboratory dungeon

The Wandering Chick - Talk to Shaman Pippi again. You need to find the chick, again! Exit the town and head south. Keep going south, but slowly. If you spot the chick, you need to approach it from behing slowly. For me it was 1 screen southeast from the screen from which you enter the Comodo Village, but it's random.

Selray Village V - Unlocked after clearing the Colonia Artifact Laboratory dungeon

Happy Present [Missable] - The only way to get all 4 accessories is to give Rilche 3x, Marl Flowers and/or 3x Yupel Flowers and/or 3x Libra Flowers and/or 3x Celcetan Flowers. Make sure you choose that dialogue option!

Marl Flower - Harvest Points in the Sanctuary Approach, Table Mountain, Ashen Forest and Colonia Battlefield. Exchange 10x Wilted Flowers.
Yupel Flower - Exchange 5x Marl Flowers.
Libra Flower - Exchange 2x Yupel Flowers. Dropped by Madogra-Slef enemies.
Celcetan Flower - Exchange 3x Libra Flowers.

You will get Marl Wreath, Yupel Wreath, Libra Wreath and Celcetan Wreath accessories.

Legendary Weapon - If you visit the blacksmith and talk to the apprentice, she will ask you to get her the Sun Stone. There are 3 per game, which means to get all the ultimate weapons you will need to beat the game twice. If you choose a weapon for Adol, you will get male ultimate Armor, so make sure to select both armors at some point.
