Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion - Genji Equipment

There are 4 Genji parts you can collect, and by collecting them all you will unlock the Genji Equipment trophy.

#1: Genji Armor

Ability: Sets HP limit at 99,999; keeps Endure and Regen status active

You only need the 100% completion for your DMW. This means: all DMW Images and all animations of each DMW Image. This one is easiest to obtain, but requires some time. It can serve as a great entry point for tackling all of the missions.

#2: Genji Helm

Ability: Stops expending MP & AP; adds Libra

Can be purchased from Online Shop Shade for 1,000,000 Gil. Online Shop Shade is a reward from completing Mission 9-5-4: Abnormal Power. If you've completed all other missions and looted all chests prior to this, you should have enough without even selling anything. You can sell some Gold Rolling Pins which sell for 50,000 Gil each if you need the many, or some other accessories that are useless for a large amount of Gil.

#3: Genji Glove

Ability: Sets damage limit at 99,999; keeps Critical status active

Genji Glove can be found inside a chest in Mission 9-6-4: Biomechanical Threats.

#4 Genji Shield

Ability: Keeps Barrier & MBarrier active; absorbs all elements; nulls all ailments

This is the most complicated Genji item to acquire, and also the best one. In order to get it, you will need to encounter a Magic Pot enemy in Mission 7-6-6: The Determined Recruiter. Before you do this however, make sure you have the DMW Image for Magic Pot, which can be obtained from Magic Pot enemy in Mission 10-2-3: Master Tonberry.

The abilities you will need to use to get the Genji Shield are Octaslash, Gil Toss, Costly Punch, and 99999 Damage. Gil Toss can be found in a chest in Mission 7-4-6: Breakthrough. Costly Punch can be made by combining Goblin Punch (reward from the Waterfall minigame in Gongaga in Chapter 9) with any purple DMW Materia (can be bought from Research Dept. QMC+, which is also found in Gongaga in Chapter 9). 99999 Damage you will do with Costly Punch with some preparation (check out my Chapter 10 or All Missions topic for details), and Octaslash will require some preparation as well.

The issue with your goal is that you'll have to kick the mentioned enemy with Sephiroths DMW limit break. To increase chances just buy 4 Octaslash materia from Research Dept. QMC+ Shop, but also buy multiple Lucky Stars Materia from the same shop. You can start by tackcling some easy missions until you get Cissnei's DMW limit (equip Lucky Stars Materia before this step) - when you do, your DMW chance will raise to Heavenly state. With multiple Octaslash materia on you, the change of getting Octaslash is really high.

For Costly Punch and 99999 Damage, increase your HP above 20000 and break your damage past 9999. I also. If you need more ATK abnd HP, equip 2x Power Suit (reward from Mission 7-5-4: Second Son in the Wasteland, and inside a chest in Mission 7-6-3: A Recruiter in a Slump) to maximise your ATK stat and increase your HP. Also equip Adaman Bangle (reward from Mission 7-3-6: P’s Precognition Lv. 6) to break your max HP past 9999. For breaking the damage limit I've used the Buster Sword proficiency on 25%, then you can X+square in the battle to enter the battle stance - when you attack with Costly punch in that stance, you will deal up to 99999 damage. The other way is to get Brutal accessory (reward from Mission 7-4-6: Breakthrough). If you need more Hp, HP Up++ on it's max level can help (you can even fuse multiple ones to get more of that %). Drainga materia that is a reward from Mission 6-5-5: Arms Development Dept. has HP+500% bonus, or Full Cure with HP +200% (80% missions reward).

List of stuff you will need:

  • Gil Toss
  • Costly Punch
  • 3-4 Octaslash
  • Materia with HP +200% or more (if you don’t have the stat on other materia)
  • Power Suit x2
  • Buster Sword Proficiency 25% or Brutal accessory
  • Adaman Bangle

Save your game and start with Mission 7-6-6: The Determined Recruiter.

Run around getting in encounters until you find the Magic Pot. It can happen anywhere in the mission and is pretty rare, so just keepfighting. Once you do find the Magic Pot, use Gil Toss and Costly Punch when requested. For 99999, you will likely need to hit the Magic Pot from behind to hit 99999. For Octaslash, hope that the DMW lands on Sephiroth. If you fail on any condition, you can simply pause and forfeit the battle, and then restart it without having to try and find the pot again. When you manage, simply beat the mission.
