Tales of Arise - Side Quests Guide

You can find 70 side quests in Tales of Arise. When you defeat the 4th lord boss in the cruise ship Mobile Fortress Gradia, the ship sinks and you are locked out of Owl, but although this one is missable, it will appear in Ganath Haros region if you missed it on the ship, Thistlym area, north part of the shore area on the map. With this in mind, you can't miss anything when ti comes to quests.

You can easily find quests if you press square, then triangle button (fast travel, list of visited towns/areas) and by the message icon next to the destination. Simply talk to the client to initiate the quest. Only 3 quests are not marked, which are #40 "The Phantom Flower of Nevira", #62 "Beyond the Grave", #70 "Record Collection". Appearance of quests is tied to the story progression, so might want to check if some new quest appeared after certain story events.

Story-related Side Quests

Quest #1: Supply Procurement
Calaglia region - You will get it and complete it during the Prologue you can't miss it.

Quest #2: Forging from Scratch
Calaglia region - Automatically added to your quest log at the start of Main Quest "Taking Down Balseph", you can't miss it.

Quest #3: The Owl Forest
Cyslodia region - Automatically added to your quest log when you reach Nevia Snowplains. Talk to the Owl on the side to enter the Owl Forest.

Quest #9: Hunger Averted
Location: Ulzebek
Talk to the woman next to the fast travel icon. Bring her some Potatoes (e.g. found in Iglia Wastes next to Ulzebek). Unlocks Steamed Potatoes Recipe.

Quest #10: Giant Zeugle Hunt
Location: Ulzebek
Talk to the man at the top of the stairs to get this quest (east part, southern client). Defeat the Giant "Mantis" monster to finish the quest (he is level 43, be careful).

Quest #11: Shionne the Fashion Critic
Location: Ulzebek
Talk to the man near the center of the area, the one with the rugged clothes. Give him some fashion advice (any option will do), and now you need to wait for a long time (second half of the game) for him to get the clothes and for you to finally finish this quest. The exact moment is when you defeat the 5th Lord and unlock fast travel for all destinations again (when you reach Menancia again).

Quest #12: The Hunt for New Arms
Location: Ulzebek
Talk to the man in front of the inn. You need to get 3x Stone Fragment, which you can get from defeating Golems. Go to Iglia Wastes and look for huge golem enemy that appear there. The easy way to get the fragment is to break the back of the golem. You can use fast travel to reset enemies.

Quest #13: Taking Root
Location: Ulzebek
Talk to the man halfway up the stairs on the east side of the settlement. Go to Iglia Wastes and check the quest marker. You need to defeat some wolf zeugles, and then return to the man who gave you the quest.

Quest #14: Mixed Feelings
Location: Ulzebek
Unlocked after completing the "Taking Root" quest from same client. This will point you towards an Elite monster in Igla Wastes. Defeat it.

Quest #15: Doc’s Secret Ingredient
Location: Mosgul
Reward: Recipe - Kebab
Talk to the doctor in Mosgul to get this quest (after story events with him). You need some Pepper, which you can find in Kyrd Garrison from harvest points.

Quest #16: Into the Grotto
Location: Trench of Flames, East Side
You need to return to Trench of Flames, East Side after defeating the story boss "Efreet Malum" near the end of the story (Berg Volcano). That boss will drop you the "Secret Key", used to open the locked gate in Trench of Flames. You can trigger the quest when you reach the gate after obtaining the key.

Quest #17: Global Connection
Location: Mosgul
Unlocked after completing the "Gourmet Saga: Soft and Fluffy" quest (quite far in the game, you will have to backtrack after finishing it). Talk to the doctor to start it. You need to bring him some Wheat and Eggs, which can be bought from merchant in Ganath Haros -> Pelegion -> Inn.

Cyslodia

Quest #18: Fire Beneath the Ice
Location: Messia 224
Talk to the man in Messia 224, south part of the town. You must defeat 7 Ice Wolves in the White Silver Plains.

Quest #19: Thawing Relations
Location: Messia 224
Talk to the man on the ground level of the village. Bring him some Lettuce and Apples, which can be found on harvest points in White Silver Plains.

Quest #20: Hard Liquor
Location: Messia 224
Reward: Lohikeitto Recipe
Talk to the man aon upper part of the village (left-hand path leading up). You need to bring the man 4x Earth Seeds which you can get from Ropers (some can be found in Ulvhan Grotto, Rudhir Forest), or Forest Ropers (Gilanne Woodland).

Quest #21: Gathering of Zeugles
Location: Cysloden, Alley area
Find the client next to the fast travel point. You need to defeat 3 groups of monsters in Nevira Snowplains that are marked on the map.

Quest #22: Culling the Snowplain Herds
Location: Cysloden, Bregon’s Hideout area
Talk to Bregon in his hideout. You need to defeat 3 groups of monsters in Nevira Snowplains that are marked on the map.

Quest #23: Survey Says…
Location: Cysloden, Bregon’s Hideout
Unlockef after completing "Culling the Snowplain Herds" quest from the same client. You need to talk to 3 people around the town (check the markers), and then he gives you the key to open the cell to that elite monster locked in a cage in Riville Prison Tower (Basement).

Quest #24: Opening Up Trade
Location: Cysloden, Bregon’s Hideout
Unlockef after completing "Survey Says…" quest from same client. He asks of you to defeat the elite monster in Ulvhan Grotto, the cave connected to White Silver Plains. At this point you may already defeated this monster, thus ending this quest immediately.

Quest #25: In Sync
Location: Cysloden, Fountain Plaza Avenue area
Talk to the boy east of Central Plaza Avenue entrance. Your mission is to defeat an elite monster Agony Keeper, which can be found in Nevira Snowplains.

Quest #26: Gourmet Saga: Berry Scavenging
Location: Frozen Valley
Reward: Recipe - Apple Pie
Talk to the collapsed man in front of the bridge, eastern part of the map. You need to give him Apples and Wheat to complete the quest, both can be found in White Silver Plains, or bought from the merchant. Easy one.

Quest #27: Brave New World
Location: Cysloden, Fountain Plaza Avenue area
This is one of the late quests in the game. You need to return here (Inn entrance) to initiate it (just some bath scenes, and the quest is done) when you mop up 4 side-bosses later.

Quest #28: A Humbling Lesson
Location: Cysloden, Fountain Plaza Avenue
Unlocked after finishing "Brave New World" quest from the same client. Talk to him again, and this time you will enjoy some girl bath scenes, thus completing the quest. Don't worry about the outcome here, no way you can do it the other way.

Menancia

Quest #29: Getting Rusty
Location: Traslida Highway
Talk to the man in front of the farm house (northwest of Pharia Ranch exit). You need to defeat 8x Earthern Mass enemies (those are the flying ones) in the same area. Quite easy.

Quest #30: Pharia Ranch
Location: Traslida Highway
Find the collapsed man on the path to Viscint, talk to him and he’ll go with you on his ranch. This will complete this short one, open the ranch mini-game, and you can do the other quest for him then (if not immediately, then a bit later).

Quest #31: The Stud from the Plains
Location: Pharia Farm
Talk to the farmer at Pharia Ranch after "Pharia Ranch" qust. You will have to pick up some clother in Viscint, and then find his bull in Traslida Highway. If you get lost, check the map markers to guide you easily.

Quest #32: Taste-Testing Tusks
Location: Viscint
Talk to the man down the first south alley in Viscint (when entering from Traslida Highway). He wants 4x Grantine Fangs, so go ahead and defeat some boar enemies in Trashlida Highway.

Quest #33: A Boorish Boar
Location: Viscint
Talk to the woman down the second south alley in Viscint (when entering from Traslida Highway). She wants you to defeat the elite monster Relentless Charger in Traslida Highway.

Quest #34: Walking Crag
Location: Viscint
Talk to the man at the bridge leading to Razum Quarry area. This will be unlocked a bit later, not on the first visit. Defeat the elite monster Flamewrecker inside Razum Quarry,  Mining Site 1 area.

Quest #35: Claiming a Bounty
Location: Viscint
alk to the man down the third south alley in Viscint (when entering from Traslida Highway). Defeat elite monster Great Dragon. You can find the monster in Traslida Highway, if you initiate the fight with 3 board just north from the campfire (they rest on the plateau), the elite monster will join the fight.

Quest #36: Gourmet Saga: Palace Delicacy
Location: Viscint
Reward: Recipe - Beew Stew
Talk to the collapsed man in near the exit to Talka Pond Road. This is a continuation quest from Cyslodia ("Gourmet Saga: Berry Scavenging") from the man who gave you another recipe already. Now you need beef, potatoes, tomatoes and mushrooms. You can find beef, potatoes and tomatoes in Traslida Highway from the harvesting points, while mushrooms are found in Viscint near the entrance to Gilanne Woodland, or inside many areas through the game.

Quest #37: Dohalim, Big Game Hunter
Location: Traslida Highway
Talk to the woman at the farm (southeast from the bridge, or just northwest from the previous quest giver). You need to defeat an elite monster in the same area. Note that this is available after Dohalim joins your party, so you will need to backtrack then.

Quest #38: Bibliophile
Location: Auteliana Palace (1F), Library
Reward: Recipe - Pancake
The Library is the eastern door on the 1st floor of the Autelina Palace. Talk to the girl by the bookshelves (I started this after getting Dohalim). She wants you to show her a few different books, which are in fact, Rinwell’s craftable weapons! Show her "Secrets of the Stars" - which is your starting weapon (and by reporting to her, you get the recipe immediately), "Nature’s Beauty", "Taming Water", "Radiant Light", and "Rarest Book" - all craftable weapons. You will have to return much later, as the Rarest Book is to be crafter in late game.

Quest #39: An Eternal Rivalry
Location: Viscint, Training Grounds
Talk to the knight in the Viscint, Training Grounds and beat her in one on one duel with Kisara. You need to learn to use guard when she attacks and counter immediately, otherwise you're going to have a hard time.

Quest #40: The Phantom Flower of Nevira
Location: Menancia, Autelina Palace (1F), Library
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords and when you return back to Menancia (when you can travel all around the whole world again).
Go to the library of Autelina Palace, approach the bookshelves to trigger a dialogue Rinwell. This unlocks the quest. Travel to Cyslodia, Nevira Snowplains and go to the quest marker at the big lake. You need to defeat a Level 54 monster "Meneiys", which could be a bit too much when you first unlock this quest, but you can come later to finish it.

Quest #41: Spirit Temple
Location: Traslida Highway
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords and when you return back to Menancia (when you can travel all around the whole world again).
East from the west entrance, there is a group of people next to a caravan. Talk to them, and you will start this quest. You need to go to Tietal Plains (area north from this area), enter the new temple that appeared and make your way towards the end (follow the teleports). At the end there is a 60+ level boss, so you might want to postpone this one for later.

Quest #42: Another Hillside Anomaly
Location: Viscint
Unlocked after completing the "Spirit Temple" quest.

Quest #43: Otherworldly Visitors
Location: The Otherworld (Earth Spirit Temple)
Unlocked after completing the "Another Hillside Anomaly" quest.

Quest #41: Dahna’s Tastiest Pancake
Location: Viscint, Inn
This one is in Menancia region, Viscint, Inn. For me it unlocked after completing the "Kisara’s Initiation" and "Untamable Rage" quests. Simply talk to the woman, visit Pharia Ranch and talk with the farmer there. After the competition you will unlock Shionne Pancakes Recipe, Dohalim Pancakes Recipe and Hootle Pancakes Recipe

Mahag Saar

Quest #45: Gourmet Saga: Prairie Scent
Location: Aqfotle Hills
Exit Niez and find a collapsed man just next to the exit. Remember him? He’s the same guy with 2 Gourmet Saga quests you did for him before. For him to show up you must have done these 2 quest first (in Cyslodia & Menancia). This time he wants Lettuce, Apples, Lemons, all 3 are found in Mahag Saar, Adan Lake (the area south on this map).

Quest #46: The Mysterious Pair
Location: Niez
Unlocked after completing the "A Healer and Her Patients" quest, which you received automatically from story progress in Menancia, Overseer Hill. You need to find the locations of his cluess, which is in Calaglia region, Iglia Wastes. Check the northern corner of this region’s map, and you will find the "Iron Pipe". Return this to the bard to complete the quest. This is used to craft Alphen's best weapon later.

Quest #47: City Renewal
Location: Niez
Reward: Recipe - Roasted Chicken
Talk to the man standing near the exit to Aqfotle Hills. He will ask of you to bring 3x Demihuman Muscles, which you can get from defeating Rioter Claws (Mount Dhiara & Este Luvah Forest, big "bear"-like enemies with claws).

Quest #48: Kisara’s Initiation
Location: Niez, Inn
Reward: Recipe - Curry
Talk to the woman inside the inn. She needs 4x Pepper, 2x Beef, 2x Salmon and 4x Potatos. You can find Pepper and Potato in Aqfotle Hills, Salmon in Adan Lake (region south of Aqfotle Hills), and Beef from growing animals at Pharia Farm.

Quest #49: Echoes
Location: Niez
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords and when you return back to Menancia (when you can travel all around the whole world again).
Talk to the old man in Niez next to the exit to Aqfotle Hills. You need to defeat the elite monster "Ruthless" (2 of them are in 1 fight!). Go to Este Luvah Forest, use the elevator to B1, and drop down the southwest ledge from B1 to B2. Follow the tunned on this side to reach your elite gigant.

Quest #50: Owl Sanctuary
Location: Niez
Reward: Recipe - Sandwich [Missable]
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords and when you return back to Menancia (when you can travel all around the whole world again), and after you clear all other quests in Niez before this one.
Talk to the woman in the north-east part of Niez. Now, talk to woman’s owl a bit to the west, and then head to the Owl Forest. Here you must pick between 3 owls, choose the middle one (but this doesn't effect anything). Now, if you answer with "Big Basket" you will get the recipe, if you choose a small one, you will miss that recipe, so be careful!

Quest #51: Farewell, Mage
Location: Niez
Reward: Artifact - Drum of the Legend
This will unlock when you complete all above quest in Niez. Talk to the same client next to the exit to Aqfotle Hills to start it. You will need to go through Mount Dhiara to the Ridge and into a tall tower. At the top of the tower is a boss called "Procella Sylph, probably way too stronger than you at this point, so it's completely fine to return here when you're stronger.

Quest #52: Skybound Swarm
Location: Hidden Wharf, Wharf
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords and when you return back to Menancia (when you can travel all around the whole world again).
Talk to the woman in the Wharf area, and defeat the gigant elite monster "Mother Boomy" in Aqfotle Hills.

Ganath Haros

Quest #53: Fishing Fiends
Location: Thistlym
Talk to the man at the entrance to Shinefall Woods (top of the hill). He wants you to go to Shinefalls Woods (the next area) and defeat 4x Terrapin Fists. Those are the big gorilla enemies. This quest is unlocked when you need to go through the woods, unlock the rest of them, which are unlocked later. Find gorillas in the forest, beat them and return for your reward.

Quest #54: Seaside Tornadoes
Location: Thistlym
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords and when you return back to Menancia (when you can travel all around the whole world again).
Talk to the man at the entrance of Thistlym, which is at the bottom level. This one is unlocked a bit later, not on your first visit. You need to defeat the gigant Stormbringer in the previous area Tuah Seashore, which is the area from where you started this region.

Quest #55: Untamable Rage
Location: Thistlym
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords and when you return back to Menancia (when you can travel all around the whole world again).
Talk to the old man standing at the top of the village (higher level). In t he Shinefall Woods head to the very south where you can now swim through the water to reach a new cave, Fogwharl Limestone Caverns. At the end of the cave you must defeat a boss "Luo Undine" (tough for your current level when this unlock, you can come back later), then visit the secret fishing spot and return to the quest giver.

Quest #56: Her Place
Location: Shinefall Woods
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords and when you return back to Menancia (when you can travel all around the whole world again).
Talk to the man in the south part of Shinefall Woods. He wants you to defeat the gigant elite monster "Regent Bee", which is in the same area a bit north from this point (check the marker). Don't let them sting you!

Quest #57: Peligon’s Zeugle Mascot
Location: Pelegion, Level 1
Reward: Recipe - Fish Steak
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords, when you reclaim the Pelegion.
Talk to the girl near the elevator of Peligon 1st level area. You need to defeat 5x Wild Boomy in Aureum Falls, Waterfalls area, so enter Autumn Falls from Lavtu Marshlands or Shinefall Woods and walk to the Waterfalls area (no travel point). There are only 3 Wild Boomy there in this area, so upon defeating them, exit the area, enter it again and they will respawn.

Quest #58: Catching Up
Location: Pelegion, Level 1
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords, when you reclaim the Pelegion.
Talk to the man the 1st level of Peleigon, and bring him 3x Infused Statue Fragments, which you can get from defeating Killer Effigy (found in Del Fharis Castle, or Forland Mountains), or Chaotic Figure later in "The Wedge" (flying Gargoyle enemies). I had enough of these immediately for him.

Quest #59: Master of Nature
Location: Pelegion, Level 2
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords, when you reclaim the Pelegion.
Talk to the little boy on 2nd level of Pelegion, and defeat lv. 42 elite monster "Elemental" in the middle of the Lavtu Marshlands in this region.

Quest #60: Gourmet Saga: Soft and Fluffy
Location: Pelegion, Level 2
Reward: Recipe - Mabo Curry
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords, when you reclaim the Pelegion.
Talk to the collapsed man on 2nd level of Pelegion at the far end. Remember him, again? He’s the same guy who gave you other Gourmet quests in regions before, so if you don't see him, it means you hadn't fished those, or you need to progress with the story. You will need couple of ingredients:

x6 Rice - Find Rice in Lavtu Marshlands, western area has exactly 6.
x4 Stimulating Powder (Pepper) - also like Rice, some can be found in middle and western area of Lavtu Marshlands.
x2 Neither Swine nor Hare Meat (Rappig meat) - If you harvested 50 meals from your farm (Pharia Ranch, farm unlocked by talking to collapsed man in Menancia, Traslida Highway), and reached enough into the story, your farm slots are expanded and you can get Rappig meat (farming Rappigs, of course).
x2 White, Soft, and Fluffy Objects (Tofu) - Buy from Item Shop in Ganath Haros, Pelegion, Inn.

Return the ingredients and enjoy your new recipe!

Quest #61: Missing Lover
Location: Thistlym
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords and when you return back to Menancia (when you can travel all around the whole world again).
Talk to the woman in Thistlym next to the fast travel icon on the bottom floor. This quest is unlocked after healing the Renan Soldier in Menancia, Talka Pond Road. Talk to a guy in Pelegion, Level 3, and then the Renan Soldier in Menancia, Talka Pond Road. You can start this quest sooner, but without unlocked fast travel to all regions again you can't reach Talka Pond Road.

Quest #62: A Talk with Tilsa
Location: Pelegion, Level 2
Unlocked after beating 5 Lords and when you return back to Menancia (when you can travel all around the whole world again).
Talk to Tilsa on the 2nd level of Pelegion. It doesn’t matter what dialogues you pick, answer as you see fit to complete this quest.

Quest #63: Beyond the Grave
Location: Tuah Seashore
You need to beat boss at the top of the hill on Uninhabited Isladn. Start the quest in Ganath Haros, Tuah Seashore. It's an end game quest, for which you first must reach Rena (the final dungeon). Upon entering the Ganath Haros, Tuah Seashore, a dialogue will play where you pick up a bottle at the beach with a map inside, which you then need to take to Mahag Saar, Hidden Warf and talk to Mahavar there (They guy with the green icon on the map) Choose "Uninhabited Island" option.

Quest #64: Their Future
Location: Pelegion, Level 3
Complete "Missing Lover" quest first, and talk to the knight on the 3rd level of Pelegion. Watch their wedding in Saxleoh Temple.

Other Quests, End-game quests (not tied to regions)

Quest #65: Tissue Sample
Location: Daeq Faezol, Lower Level
Talk to the researcher in the space station at Lower Level, and then go to Rena, Gegham Helgarahi, Upper Level 3F to defeat the gigant "Calamity Arms".

Quest #66: An Ambition Fulfilled
Location: Daeq Faezol, ower Level
Unlocked after completing "Tissue Sample" from same client. Talk to the researchers, which instantly triggers a fight against a prototype monster. Defeat the monster to finish the quest.

Quest #67: The Super Zeugle
Location: Daeq Faezol, Lower Level
Unlocked after completing "Tissue Sample" and "An Ambition Fulfilled" quests from same client. Defeat 2 gigants "Masher Bull" & "Masher Mare" in Mahag Saar, Adan Lake, next to the northwestern tower on the map.

Quest #68: The Ultimate Zeugle
Location: Daeq Faezol > Lower Level
Unlocked after completing "Tissue Sample", "An Ambition Fulfilled" and "The Super Zeugle" quests from same client. Defeatthe gigant “Ezamamuk” in Menancia, Mount Dhiara, Mountain Base area (around the middle of the map).

Quest #69: The Reminiscence Device
Location: Daeq Faezol, Lower Level
You get this quest in Daeq Faezol, Lower Level area after you beat the game and load the clear game save. This challenge is one of the latest challenges you should attempt, as you will fight all in-game story bosses of each region and they are level 95-99. I suggest you do everything else in the game (minus the Ultimate group arena challange) and then try this one.

Quest #70: Record Collection
Location: Menancia, Viscint
I got this one after finishing the game, and after doing almost all other quests first. Also, I had max bond with all party members, and all weapons crafted, plus almost all Artifacts. Talk to the bard in Viscing and simply talk to people in all regions (check the location on fast travel menu and just follow the green quest icons). After you are done, return to Viscint and finish the quest.
